Windows cannot find iexplore .exe windows 7

I've tried installing IE from the internet, it runs and installs but then nothing, not even an error message appears and still no Explorer.

Also when I search under installed updates, Internet Explorer 10 is there. How do I solve all this? Tried countless of these forums and nothing seems to solve my particular problem and continuing without antivirus obviously is not an option.

The icon is gone and everything When I go to run program and search for iexplore is says "windows cannot find iexplore" I have googled this problem and after 5 hours of trying different things from other posts, internet explorer still does not exist on his computer.

I have tried system restores, running a virus scan I am at a loss. Please help! I recently experienced the same thing on Windows 7. In my case, it appeared that everything all shortcuts, menu items, etc. In addition, if you typed iexplore in the Search Programs and Files bar on the Start menu - it would produce negative results.

Internet Explorer 8, 9, 10, Sign in to vote. I recently upgraded one of our workstations from Window's 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro and somehow during that upgrade, the executable for internet explorer 11 and many of it's core. I was able to get the program to run however, I cannot set it as my default browser. It does not come up as a choice in the "set default programs" menu. Also just to be safe, I did run the SFC. Is there a way to fix this?
